deer dairy,

what are the difference between the first and second waves of feminism? the first one wore bloomers and the second one wore miniskirts.
it's a funny joke, diary. i know its funny becaues i got it from twop, and twop is always funny. altho i'm not really sure what they meant by bloomers, bloomees are those things you find in a menu at chilis, right?
i'm writing about feminism because i read my story suffragette the diary of dollie baxter, london 1909-1915 (wasn't the title reallly long??) recently. and it was all about the fight for woman's rights. dollie baxter was a very spirited young woman who truly believed in the causes she and her friends were fighting for. i was quite caught up in it too.
the diary took place about a decade ago(decade is like a hundred years, right? diary i'm so proud i'm using bug words), in the midst of british women advocating woman's rights. they were divided into two groups; suffragists and suffragettes. suffragists were law abiding, suffragettes were more millitant in their actions. dollie was a suffragette. she faced ugly police encounters, jail threats and force-feedings. it was amazing what these women were prepared to go through in order to achieve what women have today.

i now know that feminism and the fight for woman's rights is not about women being superior than men. it's about women having the chance and choices to make important decisions for better lives.

i am a learned girl, dairy! yay me!
