june 07 - lots of people who would go see indiana jones are not nerds
i have seen indiana jones and the crystal skull.
for some people it would be da-da-da-daaaa! da-da-daaaa! (shoebox blog). or ba-ba-ba-baaaa! ba-ba-baaaa! but for me it has always been tet-tenet-tennn! tet-ten-nennnn! tet-ten-net-tenetenn! tet-tenen-nen-nen! tet-tenet-tenn! tet-tenennnnnn! tet-tenet-tet-tenet-tet-tenet-tennn-tennnn! i have always had this fascination with soundtracks. when jurassic park came out i wanted to hear it in my head all the time but i always mixed it up with superman's. it always took a few tries to start on the right note. one time, aziz m osman's tv drama featured a track from jurassic park and i was so proud to have identified it.(it was the raptor's theme). what? i'm supposed to be telling about indiana jones and the crystal skull? oh right.
when i think about cate blanchett and the beings she has been - elizabeth, galadriel, irina spalko - she is so AWESOME. when i grow up i want to be a cate blanchett.
louis, it's hard for me to accept that you are all grown up. aw, louis! i used to have a crush on tweedy! what? i mean, i used to ... tweedy was cute. the end.
indiana jones and the crystal skull, for me, is a watered-down indy tale. the first 45 minutes was even a bit boring for me. i miss marcus!
a lot of people would be upset about the alien thing, i think. i didn't like it, but, it's really not that big of a surprise to me. not because steven spielberg and george lucas are president and vice president of I LUV ALIENZZ club, but, when it comes to ancient civilizations, pyramids, ziggurats and the likes, there has always been the theory that they came from creatures of outer space. the theme has also been explored for an x-file book series, so the story was not a new one. it sucked that it had to go that way in the end but... where else could it go, right? what else is more right than a bunch of aliens waiting around for the final limb to return to ignite their spaceship so they could return home?
