Turn around Bright Eyes

every now and then i fall apart

april 23 - day 3 - journey to christchurch via brisbane

on friday the 9th of april we had to move early to catch our flight to christchurch via jet star. the flight was from brisbane airport so we drive out before the crack of dawn. then we discovered that the highway we went on has a toll - THAT YOU'D HAVE TO PAY ONLINE.

!

wonders of technology. (this toll would later be paid when we arrived in chch because it was hard to understand how to)

brisbane airport has multi-faith prayer rooms! interesting.

after boarding the plane was very slow to move that me and aida who sat next to me dozed off... and we woke up the plane had only moved to the runway. masyoo pointed out that we were in line for take-off, it was true; on the next runway i saw three planes lining up behind our plane. i have witnessed a queue of planes. ... (i thought it was awesome)

next to us was a japanese dude who slept all the freaking way. even went back to sleep after we made the air stewardess prod him awake to allow us to go to the bathroom. it has to be mentioned that jet air's AS doesn't have to be thin or put on tons of make up to serve.

this flight was amazing. my ears didn't hurt at alllllllllll (they hurt almost every time a flight descends especially air asia ones) because i think the pilot was an expert at bringing the plane down to lower altitudes, also, he flew quite low approaching NZ mainland that we were treated to the most spectacular aerial view ever: the sight of the glacier covered southern alps took our breath away. as k.mai put it: KG nyer! (jumping and exclaiming out loud over the scenery) but i have never been gladder to be KG. seriously, my words fail to describe how beautiful the landscape was. i was just in awe.

landed in chch, our security check line was taken over by burly males in tights and shorts (a team of rugby players and someone ogled(not me)), food/plant check was extremely tight but luckily nothing was confiscated (declare declare declare everything), picked up by my cousin and her kid, gaped at how the mountain ranges were visible from the road (i could wake up to this view for the rest of my life), to spend the night in her home.

her kids are crazy over justin bieber(justin bieber is HUGE amongst teens in NZ). there were no ways to prevent the horrendous songs/sounds from inflicting our eardrums.

sigh.
