Turn around Bright Eyes

every now and then i fall apart

march 22 - hk 5th day and bradley copper what?

5th day honkong.

our final day in hongkong. decided earlier on to go to ngongping 360. ngongping is on lantau island, the same island as the airport and disneyland, so it made perfect sense to spend time at ngongping and then go straight to the airport. ngongping attractions: biggest buddha on asia, cable cars. near to the mrt station there's a citygate factory outlet mall.
the night before, however, when checking details of ngongping, m spotted an important announcement on the site: cable cars were down for maintainance on our date and the day after! such a bummer. c of course were happy because she hates cable cars. we decided to go anyway and check if cable car is still a possibility, if not, we'll take the bus.
took the mrt towards the island. stopped at a station where on the other side were trains bound for disneyland. mickey-mouse shaped windows. so cute!
discovered that it was true: cable cars not available. woe. the station opens right into the outlet mall. very tempting, we saw interesting shops on the way to store our luggage. then took the bus which took about 1 hour to wind it's way up the hill towards ngongping. gorgeous views of cliffs and beaches. almost the same kind of ride to stanley. there's this one uncle who insisted on standing even when someone offered him their seats. uncle was so cool.
got off at ngongping and saw big buddha up on hill. very huge. we remembered to have tau foo fah at the gate - sp said it's delicious because of the mountain water they used. it was good! but i already love taufoofah so that's a given.
mucked around to see the buddha-need to climb steps towards it. it was as high as batu caves. nice views of surrounding mountains and we saw the stalled cable cars.
went down by bus again, and decided to shop around citygate since the ride to the airport is just 15 minutes and it was too early. and this was where i found/bought my unicorn shoes of destiny - a pair of orange puma classic clydes. srsly my feet were hurting but when i put those on? like bouncing on clouds. and don't i love orange? i do. they were also merely HKD525 for 2 pairs so i got another one in black. whose a sudden puma shoes lover? apparently, me. (such a good deal though). we also spotted 6-style-shawls of giordano that me and c went crazy over when we were on the peak. with good prices! score again.
learned that our flight were delayed for 1 hour but decided to push off to the airport the same earlier decided time.
got to the airport, got back our octopus cards deposit money, and discovered that the airport is yooooooooooooooooooge. with 500 gates! i can't even count that high! sp advised us to go early because there will be plenty of shopping opp but it turned out we weren't early enough. barely had time to eat and shop. there's a halal popeye's here so we made a bee-line taking two trains to get to our destined gate, then learned that popeye's was at the first train stop. raced back, eat, shop, then raced again to the gate(took the train again), then wanted to pray(there's a multi-faith-prayer room) so i took my abulation at the toilet and because i made a lot of wet, got frowned upon by a chinese makcik. got angry but then again, it wasn't their culture so,(felt like saying out loud ek enne lu gi toilet bukan basuh pun).
finally goom-bye hongkong! i want to go back.

lessons learned.
1. GOOD SHOES. seriously. and always bring the ugly boat-crocs as a spare. those shoes have saved my life time and again.
2. when found souvenirs you like buy 10. just 10 of everything, don't even thinka of it. just in case.
3. even when you say you don't want kebabs just print every single halal addresses you found online.
4. you look slim when taking pictures from the front. do this more.
5. please take time to take pics(compose) and just chill. holidays are for relaxing. thenk yew.

so in valentine's day(the movie) eric dane and bradley cooper is a couple? oy. delicious sight, no? (it feels so wrong(for me) to acknowledge this but it's just fiction so okay)(i have no love for bradley cooper. i hate him as will so much in alias i steer clear of bc's movies if i could. but gotta admit, the man's all kinds of dishy)

still on hongkong: we were in stanley m was taking l's picture posing as the sun sets and i was getting c to act like waiting impatiently and i was taking all 3 of them's picture, when suddenly a gentleman took my pic instead and then another when i realised what he was doing and laughed. and he said, "beautiful smile!" and showed me, and i did have a beautiful smile. thank you, kind sir.
