Turn around Bright Eyes

every now and then i fall apart

september 07 - i should really be like fanny.

currently re-reading mansfield park. i read in wikipedia that when it first came out people didn't really like fanny very much. i think i see it, i don't think she is the kind of girl i would want to be friends with because she seems to be such a doormat. but on the other hand, i kind of admire her disposition to be so patient and calm despite being mistreated and ignored all the time. she just takes it all in. if it were me any encounters with mrs norris would probably give me a heart attack, conniptions of the most severe kind. i'd probably avoid mary at all cost and cry myself to sleep thinking about edmund every night. suffice to say if i were fanny being around this people my face would look like a prune.

i also think edmund is a fool. henry is obviously a moron and a jerk, like fanny, don't understand why he is so charming to the ladies. mr rushworth is URGH i think it would take every effort in my being not to push him down the stairs. maria and julia are idiots, too. i can totally get why this book wasn't so popular. it's not bad, it's classic jane austen, but the characters are quite unlikeable. i absolutely cannot stand mrs norris. i'd yell and shout in retaliation on a daily basis, which if it were to happen i'd be driven away from living in mansfield park, hehe.

i do know the bad people will get their balasan setimpal in the end, so i'm holding it out for fanny. also i'm glad that these lesser thought jane austen books (persuasion, northanger abbey and MP) has escaped being turned into editions with ridiculous creatures in them.

speaking of persuasion i am still unable to find it! tortureeeeeeeeee
